Welcome to the online space for our Moor Nook Allotments!

The allotments reopened in March 2022, and since then they've gone from strength to strength. There are lots of benefits to having a plot...

  • Growing your own fruit and veg 🥕
  • Improving the environment 🌍
  • Improving your health and wellbeing 🧠
  • Meeting new people 👬

You would also have the opportunity to learn new skills, access training and be involved in community led projects, events and fun days.

We have 14 beds for growing, which have had a lot of interest. But we do have a few available to rent at a cost of £25 per year for tenants (£30 for non-tenants). If you're interested, contact Eddie Bellingham using the details here ➡️

You can also check out the latest photos of the allotments in the gallery ➡️

Hi Steven, thanks so much for the question! The grounds are relatively flat with the beds surrounded by compacted stone. We have a couple of raised beds for disabled users, though these are currently let. However if you're interested, we could look at raising one of the other planting beds that are free. Well behaved dogs are allowed on site although they have to be kept on a lead or tethered as part of the tenancy agreement. There is no electric on site but we have a large poly tunnel and seating if you wanted to take your own refreshments, plus a water supply which is included in the fee for the plot. If you would like to arrange a visit at the site or have a further chat, please contact get.involved@communitygateway.co.uk or call 0800 953 0213 (option 6). Thanks!

Hi Daniel, thanks for your interest in our Moor Nook Allotments! Our Senior Community Engagement & Support Officer, Sharon Grimshaw, is the best person for you to speak to about plot availability. You can contact her via email at sharon.grimshaw@communitygateway.co.uk 😊
